On March 21, 22 & 23,2003, the Olav Haavaldsrud Timber Company hosted, once again, a regional curling bonspiel in the "Skins" format to help raise capital funds for the Community of Hornepayne.

The "Dare to Feed the Bears!" bonspiel was developed from arequest by the community to help in their fund-raising activities. Belinda Kistemaker deliberated over finding a creative way to generate these funds in a manner that would promote the community on a regional basis and provide recreational benefits to participants.

The response to this year's event was phenominal! We have surpassed all expectations for a successful bonspiel, grossing $12,354.42. We owe a great debt to all sponsors who generously provided financial assistance as well as all volunteers who donated time and energy towards this event.

Funds raised during this year's event will be directed towards a much needed upgrade to the surface lighting within the C & D Paul Curling Rink.
